What is the difference between a CCTA and a Calcium Score?
A calcium score detects a single marker associated with heart disease which is calcified plaque. However it does not pick up soft plaque which is the plaque that typically causes heart attacks. The CCTA actually visualizes the coronary arteries as well as the structures of heart. The CCTA is the most comprehensive test for early detection of coronary artery disease.
How does Clear Heart and Lung's imaging technology use less radiation?
Our state-of-the-art imaging system is designed to minimize radiation exposure while delivering high-quality diagnostic images. By using advanced technology, our scanners deliver 1/5 the radiation dose because of the fast rotation speed of our scanner. We acquire the image of the heart in .24 seconds.
In addition to cardiac CTA we offer, bone mineral density, lung screening, vascular leg imaging and other specific cardiac imaging in preparation for surgery or procedures.
Do you offer full body scans?
Our CT technology is designed to focus on areas of the body most critical to your health. While we don’t perform full-body scans, our advanced imaging can detect cancers with precision, often better than an MRI, and provide in-depth insights into cardiac issues that MRIs cannot address.
Your Clear Heart CCTA report will contain a calcium score as well as a 3D image of the vessels that provide your heart with blood. Each vessel is evaluated as well as the structure of the heart. The reports are then provided to you and your Dr in a pdf format.
What does a Clear Heart & Lung report contain?
We produce a detailed medical report for your physician that walks them through every part of the scanned organ and identifies any abnormal findings we identify. This is report produced in a format that they are familiar with.
Do I need a referral to get a scan?
You do not need a referral to get a scan at Clear Heart and Lung Imaging. Our physicians will provide an order after a few screening questions during your scheduling process.
Can your technology detect the same issues as a hospital CT scanner?
Yes, Our imaging equipment is specifically designed to look at the heart and lungs as well as bloodflow to all areas of the body. Our scanner is not designed to perform all the exams that a hospital CT scanner performs because it is specifically engineered for premium quality of the heart and lungs.
What types of conditions do can you identify in a lung scan?
We can potentially identify a wide range of conditions, including asthma, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), coronary artery disease, hypertension, pulmonary fibrosis, and other heart and lung-related issues.

Do you accept insurance?
We accept insurance, however insurance does not cover this test unless a patient has known coronary artery disease, has an abnormal stress test or is symptomatic with chest pain or shortness of breath.
